[CLEARANCE/USED] Evolution Racewerks Competition Series 4.5" Downpipe B58 (F-Series, 240i/340i/440i/540i and 2017+ X3/X4/X5 M40iX)

This is a used Evolution Racewerks 4.5" Catless Downpipe with the Black Thermal Coating option, this was installed on my personal 340i for about 8 months. Swapped to MRM 5" Catless Downpipe. Downpipe has wear and tear cosmetic damages, no dents or other damage that affects fitment or function. Original price was $640.

For those wondering what the point of the Black Thermal Coat is; it is a ceramic coating that traps heat inside the downpipe, which reduces engine bay temps as well as intake temps. The intake on the B58 is located directly over the downpipe and turbo, so reducing heat in this area can drastically improve IAT's. Best paired with a heat shield such as DAW's.

Damage/Defects:

Excessive cosmetic damage due to taking downpipe on and off many times while beta testing many different turbos for DAW. Other than that, no dents or other damage that affects fitment or function.

Ceramic Thermal Coating - The purpose of ceramic coating downpipes is to keep heat from the exhaust gases inside the downpipe from radiating out. This keeps underhood temperatures lower and less heat absortion by nearby parts/surfaces.  Another added benefit is that by keeping in heat (energy) in the exhaust gases inside the downpipe, exhaust flow velocities stay high, resulting in lower backpressure. The ceramic coating also adds additonal corrosion resistance. We utilize the best ceramic coating possible. Our thermal coating can resist up to 2000F of heat.  It is available in black only (all the other colors cannot withstand the high levels of heat)
